St. John Family
It is the spirit of the family of which profoundly unites all its members. But there exists in this family different ways of living St. John's paternity while preserving the unity of heart and soul which characterized the first Christian communities (Acts 4:32)
The Brothers
After a time of novitiate and formation (7 years), during which they endeavor to enter fully into they spirit of the family of St. John, the Brother live in a small communities (priories). The apostolic activity of these priories seeks to be an irradiation of the contemplative and religious life of the Brothers. Therefore, their first role is to be oases of spiritual hospitality and of a search for and communication of the truth.
The Apostolic Sisters
The Apostolic Sisters are especially witness to the link between the fervor of fraternal charity and an apostolic presence. They seek to realize a liturgical life that, with a certain beauty, may help the faithful to pray and to discover the presence of Mary in their midst. They cooperate in the apostolic life of the Brothers, serving the Community and the Church.
The Contemplative Sister
More particular hidden in God by Mary and in her, the Contemplative Sister, in the heart of the family of St. John, are guardian of its contemplative fervor. Living under the Father's attraction in an ultimate fashion demands from them a silent but joyful fraternal charity "a witness to the victory of love given to all men by Jesus " and daily work which is always ordered to the Eucharist.
The Oblates
The fatherhood of St. John also extends to Christianity living in the world. The oblates of St. John want to live fully their Baptismal consecration intimate close to Mary and in the spirit of St. John. This life of consecration demands from them a commitment to prayer and to fraternal charity with regard to the Brothers and Sisters. Their apostolic influence within the context of their respective familial, parochial, social or political responsibilities will allow the family of St. John to act more profoundly in the world.
