In Memory of Father Marie-Dominique Philippe

We just heard, with great sadness, of Father Marie-Dominique's death, the enlightened founder and animator of the Community of Saint John. We desire to express our most sincere condolences to all the Brothers, Sisters and friends of the Community of Saint Francis in Geneva. We are convinced that his warm and challenging memory and his great spiritual and humanist presence, will live on eternally in our hearts. His challenging and innovative message will always remain inseparable from his prolific thought, which he knew how to pass on with such eloquence in his writings and preaching. His testimony lives on as well through the deeds performed daily through out the world by all the Brothers and Sisters of this wonderful Community of Saint John, towards all those who are seeking a little light and meaning in these times which are becoming more and more inhuman. In so doing, they show us that faith and prayer, art and thought, renouncement and generosity, can work together to give us once again the hope that a more just and human world is still possible.
